Exploring psilocybin through science, history, and narrative structure.
This project examines what psilocybin is, how it interacts with the human brain, how it has been understood across cultures, and why psychedelic experiences are so often described using stories, symbols, and mythic language—particularly the Hero’s Journey.
Purpose
Psilocybin is often discussed through extremes: medical promise, spiritual revelation, cultural panic, or personal transformation. In doing so, clarity is frequently lost.
Psilocybin & The Journey is an attempt to restore context.
Rather than focusing on outcomes or prescriptions, this reference is concerned with:
what is known,
what is hypothesized,
and how we find meaning in experiences
